Exam Update
I thought I would give you a quick overview of examinations.
Pre-Grade 1 & 2: Held like a presentation classes and all students receive a report card but no grading, along with a beautiful rosette. Your child needs a dance t-shirt and navy blue leggings.
Pre-Grade 3: Is a good introduction to exams and all students receive a report card, are graded and a beautiful rosette. Your child needs our uniform (bootlegs/body top for jazz/tap/contemporary and hip hop pants/t-shirt for hip hop).
Level 1 upwards: All students are graded and receive a report card and certificate. Your child needs our uniform (bootlegs/body top for jazz/tap/contemporary and hip hop pants/t-shirt for hip hop).
Medal Awards: These are open to ALL STUDENTS who wish to participate whether they sit exams or not.
- These entertaining awards are aimed at encouraging students to dance and, by allowing them to perform in front of a friendly audience of parents in a fun and non-judgmental atmosphere, develop confidence.
- They can be gained at three levels, Junior (under 9 yrs), Intermediate (9+ yrs) and Senior (must have completed all of the Intermediate Level), with three categories at each level Bronze, Silver & Gold.
- The students wear a costume, make up and accessories are optional, which all add to the sense of fun and performance.
- They perform one dance for the Junior Level and Intermediate Bronze but are then required to perform two dances from Intermediate Silver level upwards.
- The Junior Levels are not graded. The Intermediate and Senior Levels are graded as follows: Merit, Merit Plus, Excellence, Excellence Plus
